About Us

The all-volunteer Clackamas County 4-H Camp Committee works year 'round to plan and coordinate our annual camping program. The camp committee meets at the Clackamas County Fire District #1, Battalion 2 / Westwood - Station 4, 6600 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie, on the second Tuesday of every month except July, August, October, & December.

Youth age 9-14 will spend a week living with about 8 other campers in cabins, learning about the environment, arts, crafts, games and generally having FUN. For many young people, camp has been one of the most memorable and greatest learning experiences in their lives. Lifelong friends are made in an atmosphere where everyone is important. Clackamas County has long been recognized throughout the Northwest as having one of the best 4-H camping programs going. Our camp is held the last week in July at the Oregon 4-H Center, Salem Oregon.

Youth age 15-19 are also encouraged to participate in the camping program by joining the Clackamas County 4-H Counselor Club. The club meets the last Tuesday of the month from January until camp, for monthly counselor training sessions at the Clackamas County Fire District #1, Battalion 2 / Westwood - Station 4, 6600 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie, OR. Here they will learn valuable human relations skills, participate in leadership and team building activities, and perhaps earn the chance to become a cabin group counselor. Refer to forms for application and criteria.

All of our regularly scheduled meetings can be found on the Important Dates page.

If you have any questions about the Camping Program, the Counselor Training program, or would like to become involved in the overall program, please call contact the Clackamas County Extension Office at 200 Warne-Milne Road Oregon City, OR 97045, or by phone at (503) 655-8635, or send e-mail to dianie@clackamas4hcamp.us.
